Geomatics + Maritime Archaeology

Pelagic Geomatics LLC was founded by Kevin May, GISP, CMS-GIS/LIS, to provide geomatics services for the maritime sector, with a specialization in maritime archaeology. Kevin May has 30 years of experience applying the field of geomatics (GIS, GPS, remote sensing) to cultural resource management (terrestrial and maritime archaeology, architectural history, and historic preservation). Most of his work in geomatics has been in support of maritime archaeology projects associated with offshore wind farms, offshore pipelines, coastal restoration projects, underwater preserve planning, shipwreck database development and maritime history.

He has extensive experience working with maritime spatial datasets, particularly, marine survey data (high-resolution geophysical surveys) and nautical charts. He has completed work for private clients and government agencies, and for all coastal states along the Atlantic seaboard, Gulf of America and the Great Lakes.
